Macau Tower

The tallest commercial jump spot in the world. Get you excited? We are, too.

Operated by the good people at AJ Hackett, this 233 m (764 feet) jump sits in Macau, a “special administration region” similar to Hong Kong. In fact, this area in southeastern China is closer to Hong Kong than Beijing.

There are a lot of great videos:

Navajo Bridges, USA - 467 ft (142 m)

Spanning the Colorado River, these bridges are in the heart of the Grand Canyon National Park, spanning the Marble Canyon in Arizona.

It’s tough not to make a great video of this picturesque spot.

7 Weeks Running

We just passed our 7-week anniversary here at GreatBigLeap, and we’re really excited about how the website has come along.

We appreciate all of your comments and emails of encouragement. Thanks, too, for all of the new locations that we’re still sorting through. There’s a lot of places out there to bungee jump, and a lot of them don’t have a website. This shouldn’t deter you from visiting, but

We’ve entered in 37 bungee jump locations all over the world, spanning six continents (something tells us there’s not bungee jumping in Antarctica … though, there could be someday…). On a similar note, we’ve had visitors from 22 countries visit the website, including: United States, South Korea, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Ireland, India, China, Romania, Italy, Belgium, Australia, Norway, Serbia, Slovenia, Greece, Indonesia, Czech Republic, Iceland, Malaysia, Austria, and Saudi Arabia.

Thanks for coming everyone.

We still have a long way to go before the site is considered “complete”.

Things to expect from us in the coming month:
- More bungee jump locations
- Our first article
- More bungee jump links
- More highlighted bungee jump locations with more pictures and videos
- And our bungee jump locations section will shift to being a little bit more user-friendly. We hope you enjoy! And please, leave us some feedback!

Victoria Falls, Zambia

Today’s highlighted bungee jump location is the Victoria Falls Bridge. This jump is located on the Zambezi River, which partially forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Wikipedia has an entry about the bridge here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Falls_Bridge

This monstrous bungee jump costs US$105 per jump, US$145 per tandem jump.

Here is an link to their official site safpar.com.

Here are a couple of views of the bridge, you can see the bungee jump station in the middle of the bridge:

Here’s a look at the jump:

And, as always, we’ve uncovered some great bungee jump YouTube videos:

And here is a nice total-experience video:

It’s exciting to see some many locations around the world that offer bungee jumping. As always, we’re out there looking for the best bungee jump pictures, locations, and videos out there. If you’ve got some suggestions, leave us a comment.

Updating the Bungee Jump Locations … Kind of depressing

We have been scouring the internet looking for bungee jump locations to put up on the site. A few observations:

- It is amazing how many sites out there stopped updating in 2002

- It is amazing how many sites out there stopped updating in 1995

- It is depressing how many bungee jump locations have closed down. What was once a pretty good website, bungeezone, now looks more like a graveyard of what was bungee jumping. Even in 2002, when they stopped updating their site, there were a slew of bungee jump spots across the country that had shut down. A couple points from the site Re:Waterplace Park, Providence, Rhode Island “…
This was the tower installed for the ESPN eXtreme Games in late June/early July 1995. Not sure if this is still there. ” and Re:Kissimmee, FL “…Apparantly it is illegal to bungee jump over 75 feet in Florida. ” (this one was closed in 1995!).

- Is bungee jumping a dead sport? I’ll answer that question with a question… Are you on this site, reading this post? Support bungee jumping! Find your local bungee jump location and jump!

From what we’ve gathered so far, this site is going to require some serious digging.

Longqing Gorge Bungee, China

Here’s another exotic bungee jumping location for you: Longqing Gorge, China.

Standing at 164 ft (50 m) in Longqing, China, this tower jump costs roughly $20. Not too bad. The destination is only 56 miles northwest of Beijing, a short day trip that can be gotten to from a city bus for a fraction of the price of what you’d pay for a tour bus.

Interesting total-experience:

Great jump video:
